The Pheasants GS and Sandford Springs' Gerry Penfold wins Seniors County Championship!!! Gerry Penfold (Sandford Springs) won the County Seniors Championship at Corhampton last week. Gerry was three-over-par for the 27 holes, one shot clear of Gary Prince (BMGC) and Alan Mew (Stoneham). He now goes forward to represent Hampshire, IOW & CI in the England Golf Champion of Champions at Frilford Heath on 14/15th September. Huge Congratulations to Gerry and we all wish you the best of luck at Frilford in September!

This week the NWN has been privileged to be granted an interview with the newly ennobled Lord Michael of Coniston. We met him at easy in him home in his informal weekend garb.

please tell us what you did to earn this well deserved honour?”
Michael: “Well, I am clearly not just one of the people, but I do my best to support those less able than me, and although it is not well known, I have been
helping a number of down and outs in the Kingsclere area for many years now and regularly donate to their bi-weekly charity.
Editor: That’s marvellous, so tell us a little about you and what you do to relax when you are not doing
your good works.”
Michael: “Above all else I like to relax at weekend in the privacy of my home and I can’t wait to get home take off all my formal gear and put on the something more confortable..........
